 Foreword by Bernie Siegel, MD

In a caring yet scientific way, Barbara Stone brings her acute powers of observation to the problem of unhealed trauma.  Following her clients and their belief systems wherever they go, she is unafraid to venture into realms—like past lives and earthbound spirits—that are on the edges of therapy.  Yet in pushing the envelope, she presents us with new tools and perspectives that allow healing to occur.  This amazing book gives you answers that you won’t find any other way!

--Stevan J. Thayer, author of Interview with an Angel

“Fascinating reading… whether you believe in past lives or not, this book offers new understandings of subtle energies and effective ways of relieving human suffering.”

—Dorothea Hover-Kramer, EdD, DCEP, Co-founder of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology and author of Second Chance at Your Dream, her sixth book about human energies

“Dr. Stone bravely walks with her clients into the territory of the soul to find the Invisible Roots of the traumas held in their bodies, chakras, and biofields.  Reading these true stories makes the linear mind want to know more, satisfies the dream-time mind, and provides the reader with a basket of sacred tools for dramatic and lasting healing.

—Mary Hammond, MA, LPC, DCEP, Author of Living Your Soul’s Purpose

"You will benefit from having this profound book in your personal library because of its hopefulness, optimism and positive approach to problem resolution."

  —Bert Fellows

"Gosh is your book good!  I'm really enjoying the stories and the process you use to dig into the 'invisible roots' and the thoroughness and details.  Many times in my healing work things like this have come up and we have delved into them.  It will be nice to use your protocol as a guideline.  Thank you for sharing this important work and invisible piece of the puzzle without which our healing work is not complete."

     --Denise Kilonsky  www.chealing.com

"I am so pleased  to be included in your book!  On my vacation last week I read it from beginning to end, and it was a very powerful experience.   I am using the lessons from my past life work every day.  Here is a list of my accomplishments since we worked together:  I have celebrated three years clean in A.A., am working for an Addiction Service, have started college to finish up my B.A., and even though we are keeping separate households, I am still with my boyfriend."
--"Skye"  book contributor to Invisible Roots chapters 6 and 20

"I have found that the most important measure of healing is the depth of the gifts we harvest from digesting insufficiently digested life experiences.  Some clients require outside-the-box metaphors and methods in order to embrace these gifts at the deepest levels of their being, where they make the most lasting differences. Invisible Roots opens doors into those outside-the-box frameworks in simple, gentle and grounded ways that build needed bridges between conventional psychotherapy and shamanic realms."

--David Gruder, PhD, DCEP, Founding President, Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP), and author of the triple-award-winning book, The New IQ: How Integrity Intelligence Serves You, Your Relationships and Our World

Synopsis:

What happens when we die?  Theologians develop their theories; religions teach their frameworks for the afterlife, and many people completely ignore this very important question, which each person will face some day.  Invisible Roots provides a window into this unseen world.

Through true case histories from Dr. Stone’s psychotherapy practice, the reader witnesses souls moving in and out of a body through many lifetimes.  Sometimes a soul gets stuck between the worlds, particularly when a person dies in a state of severe emotional distress, such as a sudden accident where the person does not realize what has happened, from head trauma which disorients the brain, or even at times from an illness like dementia, in which the brain has atrophied so much that the person does not realize the spirit is no longer in the physical body.

Traditional lore refers to these in-between people as ghosts.  Psychotherapy calls them “discarnate spirits.”  Similar to the popular television show Ghost Whisperer, this book dialogs with these earthbound spirits to help them come to peace and cross over into the Light; however, instead of perceiving them through psychic perception as Melinda Gordon does on the TV show, the method used to access this information is muscle testing, a skill from Applied Kinesiology that any therapist can develop.

Dr. Stone’s work incorporates cutting-edge therapy modalities from the new field of Energy Psychology which rapidly clear trauma, both for her clients and for the souls without bodies who are “hitchhiking” on the energy fields of others.  The same methods also heal the memories of trauma in past lives so a person can live in the present without carrying the emotional scars from the past.  The chapters on past lives give the reader an inside glimpse of human experience in other countries and other times, bringing history to life!

But Invisible Roots is not just for therapists.  The first two sections of the book stand on their own as intriguing stories, resplendent with wisdom and full of surprises.  Viewing the soul as having a continuity that spans many lifetimes reframes the meaning of our existence and helps to quench the deep spiritual thirst in the soul to know why each one is here on the earth—what lesson the soul is trying to learn this time around.  What sets this book aside from most other work on spirit releasement is the care and healing given to the earthbound spirits themselves.  Rather than being cast out, as in excorcism, these lost souls are listened to, treated with energetic healing methods, and then offered the joy of returning to their Source.

And finally, the last section of the book presents theory and step-by-step guidelines for therapists who want to master the intricacies of working with past life trauma and earthbound spirits.
